ABOUT THIS SESSION

ABOUT THIS SESSION

OnDemand: In Case of Emergency:  It’s Not Only Data!

·         Session Type: OnDemand, Video Playback

·         Duration: 1-hour

·         Recommended for all JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Users

This is a prerecorded webinar. In an emergency, could you organization pay your vendors and employees?  Do you have external access to your banking and financial records?  Are you in compliance with Occupational and Safety Health Administration requirements?

Mention business continuity to a CFO and they may want to change the subject.  It is a risk issue and they'll agree it demands attention—but usually not theirs.  If you are in charge of the financial well-being of your organization, what are your responsibilities if an emergency is related to the corporate computer systems?

Business continuity, which includes contingencies for unplanned systems downtime ranging from network related outages, to hardware failures, to natural disasters, is seen as a technology issue and not related to the finance organization.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  High on everyone’s list is how to get the computer systems up and running in case of an emergency but this list should also include the roles and responsibilities for all departments—not just IT.

Finance and Administration departments have a role to play in planning for a corporate disaster.  This session will cover business issues of importance to the finance and administrative departments including:

·         What are our corporate communication plans?

·         How do I access our company directory and personal contact information for our employees?

·         Who is responsible for security during the interruption?

·         What tasks should be included in our contingency planning?

·         How do we manage external communications and media requests?

·         Are we meeting our compliance and audit requirements?

Disasters like Hurricane Katrina or the San Francisco earthquake have prompted companies to take business continuity seriously.  Are you prepared?

·         What is involved in disaster recovery planning for non-IT departments?

·         What are the risks and planning objectives for organizations running Oracle applications?

·         What is the business impact of unscheduled downtime?

·         Can our organization recover from an outage?
