Welcome to QuestDirect! Here are the top five things to make the most of your online community:1. Get a personalized experience.
When you log on to our new site, you’ll be directed to a personalized page called your “dashboard.” Your dashboard will show you some things you’ve already signed up for, like the regional and/or special interest groups you’re already a member of. But it will also recommend new options to you – everything from online education sessions to events and groups in your area. Fill out your profile today – your online experience will be customized based on it.
2. Connect with and follow the activity of people you know.
Each of our 50,000 community members will have their own personalized online profile. And that means you’ll be able to connect with each and every one of them if you want to: from your fellow customers to individual solution providers to Oracle employees and representatives. When you do, you’ll be able to not only message them and conduct private online conversations, but you’ll also see their recent activity on your dashboard when you log in.
3. Follow the leaders – experts across the site.
We’ll be featuring certain select “power users” who are doing exciting things in the community, and who can shed some light on the topics most important to the Quest community at the time. You’ll be able to see what they’re doing, what they recommend, and what they’re involved in, so you can mirror that activity on your own.
But you’ll also be able to see another list of people – those who have the most “points,” or activity across the site. That organically generated list will let you see who the community thinks you should be following, who’s producing valuable content, and who are our most consistent participants.
4. Content galore.
Start your own blog – or read and follow someone else’s. Upload the files you think are the most valuable ones in the community – or download what your fellow members have posted. Ask a question in our forums – and see the thousands of other discussions that are happening.
5. Share your ideas. (COMING SOON)
Different from our forums, where users can expect to have specific question-and-answer interactions, the “ideas” section of the site lets you think big – and put your thoughts out there for the entire community to consider. Whether it’s how Quest can improve our services or the big strategic issues you’re having with your software, we encourage you to share. Your friends will be voting, our entire community will be watching, and you never know who’s going to take your good idea and make it happen.
