EVENTS > COLLABORATE 08 > SPEAKER INFORMATION

Due to the problems with the registration for the speaker orientation calls, we have posted a MP3 for downloading of the first call. Download the speaker orientation call here.

FAQ:

1. How do I register as a speaker?

Primary speakers will be issued a code once the speaker agreement is completed.  Please note that only the primary speaker is issued the code, and only one code is issued per session. The primary speaker can choose to let the co-presenter use the code for the session. Please see below for information on speaker code usage.

Presenter Incentive and Recognition -- Quest realizes the time involved in preparing and delivering a high quality presentation and will reward  Presenters with a full, complimentary conference registration to COLLABORATE 08 (limit one complimentary registration per session. This does not include hotel, meals and travel). If presenting more than one session, the speaker will only be eligible for one complimentary registration. Complimentary registrations are not transferable to another attendee. However, if a speaker change is required a substitution can be made.

Presenters are welcome to include additional speakers in their presentation. However, only one complimentary conference registration will be provided for each session.

2. How can I get my speaker agreement?

If you are having trouble finding your speaker agreement and need it resent, please email education@questdirect.org and request another one. The original agreements were sent out on January 22, 2008. We will be following up with speakers who have not completed their speaker agreements this week.

3. When and where do I send my presentation?

Presentations are due to Quest on February 29 (Oracle Utilities' sessions are due March 7) for inclusion on the CD proceedings. Please email them to education@questdirect.org. If they are received after these dates they will only be posted on the Web site after the conference and not included on the CD which will be in the Quest bags.

4. How do I get the template?

Click here for the PowerPoint Template.

5. How should I format/save my presentation?

Please pdf your presentations before sending if at all possible. Save the file with the Session ID as the filename only. (For example: 12345.pdf or 12345.ppt)

When preparing your presentation for the CD please keep the slides to no more than 24 slides with minimal graphics and pictures. This just needs to be the basics of your presentation. If the presentation is too large for the upload it will be sent back to you for editing which may result in missed deadline to be included on the CD. Your onsite presentation can be as large and include as many graphics as you like. We do ask that you keep company logos to the first and last slide.

6. How will the room be set up and what will be in it?

The rooms will be theater style and will be set with the following:

  • Projector, screen, flip chart , markers, and microphone
  • Internet access will also be provided in each room. It will be a T-1 connection and not a wireless connection.

7. Will I need to bring my own laptop?

Please note that you will need to bring your own laptop preloaded with your presentation.

8. Can I make changes to my presentation?

The onsite program has been sent to the designer, therefore speaker changes and edits will not be reflected from this point on in the onsite program. We can make edits to the Web site posting.

For any other questions, please email education@questdirect.org for assistance.
