To be a Quest board member, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Nomination and Appointment Process:
Prospective candidates are invited to complete a self-nomination form at anytime during the application period. Quest's executive director will contact all applicants to further discuss the duties and obligations of a Quest director. Candidates will be interviewed via phone by a Nominating Committee comprised of customers and Oracle representatives.

Those candidates selected for the slate by the Nominating Committee will be notified by the executive director immediately. The board slate will be put forward to a vote of the Quest membership via proxy online balloting. Votes are cast for or against the slate, not on individual candidates. Write-in candidates are permitted. Balloting takes place online and at the Quest booth during the COLLABORATE conference. Candidates are not required to attend the COLLABORATE conference.

Length of Term:
Terms will begin in June during the first board meeting of the new term, and will extend for two years from that date. The candidates selected for these positions will be eligible for re-election for up to two additional two-year terms (candidates meet eligibility requirements).

What Do Quest Board Members Do?
The Quest Board of Directors is a group of volunteers who drive the strategic direction and initiatives of the Quest organization. Working with support from the Quest staff and a number of committees and councils, the board works to represent the entire user community in initiatives to educate, communicate, advocate and advise.

Board membership requires some time commitment on your part. For instance, the board holds three or four in-person meetings annually and monthly conference calls. In addition, Quest board members participate in or lead committees. You will be required to participate in at least 51 percent of required board events to maintain your board seat.

Why Apply/Return on Investment:
The return to you is the opportunity to interact with your peers, share expertise and collaborate with others in an inclusive, supportive environment aimed at adding value for all users. As a volunteer, you will be not be compensated for your participation, although direct expenses such as travel will be reimbursed. You will be recognized as a leader and advocate for customers worldwide.

Quest was created for the shared benefit of the user community, so your leadership is crucial to our success. We value the participation of all members, no matter the size or location of your company, the Oracle applications or modules in use, or your position within the company. We encourage you to apply today.
